I set a project on "suspended", but the calculation of the work load of the assigned ressources still takes in account the hours planned on this task. Is this correct? When I suspend a task, it would mean that no work has to be done (i.e. planned) for this task.

The entire work load calculation is then wrong...

If you suspend a task you should remove also the hours planned for it (untill it is set to active again).

When you set the task as active all the planned work start to be counted again (also the one of the period in which the task has been suspended).

For this reason you should remove them anyway otherwise the calculation would be wrong.

Do you mean that I have to disable the assignement (as per chapter 3.3 of the user manual) or that I have to disable the "load from estimation"?

When I suspend a project, all its children will be suspended. If my project has for example 20 sub-tasks, it would be quite long to go through all of them and set the planned hours for all assignements to 0. And it will be even more painful to do the other way around: this would mean to do again the planning (how many hours were originally planned for each task?), because the original values got lost.
