Various alerts are sent as tasks are assigned and statuses changed however for tasks within a process there are no notifications sent to a user to alert them that a task that was previously assigned to them has now become active and so is now waiting on them.

The task may have been assigned to them weeks earlier for example but today the previous task was completed. Alerts are sent from the completion but there is no specific alert sent to the user who is "next in line" to tell them that their task that had been suspended for weeks is now Active and waiting on them.

Therefore a user who uses Teamwork only rarely may not be aware that a process has reached a stage where it is now waiting on them to complete a task for the process to continue.
